TROPICAL FLAVOUR
OF LOMI LOMI MASSAGE Close your eyes and imagine a warm peaceful place, with no traffic cues, no ringing phones, or electronic beeps and buzzes, just gentle chiming music and the enhancing fragrances of coconut and soft candle lighting and a welcoming air drifting over you enticing you to a dreamy relaxed frame of mind where electricity bills, what to cook for dinner, and the car needing a service are whooshed away for just a short time. This is where Marie found herself when she went for a Lomi Lomi massage with Louise Kleu in her lovely holistic centre based home in Sunhill, Killorglin. Louise, established in this therapy with some eight years experience behind her, found herself in the lovely Kerry location, having followed her heart from her homeland in South Africa – and she now has a business from her home, and also is facilitating courses in Lomi Lomi –an ancient Polynesian massage which embraces a balance both spiritually and physically to create harmony. It is an expressive therapy which in turn helps to enlighten and develop true self worth and understanding. Louise herself is a very calming yet warm person who completely makes the whole experience one of a magical period of time which you emerge from feeling very relaxed and contented both inside and out. Marie’s constant smile and very stress free attitude expressed this following her visit. The oils used by Louise are sesame seed which is warm in the winter months and coconut which is cooler for the summertime and it smells good right from the start. And warmed towels and background music all add to the atmosphere of being pampered and away from it all.
There is a fine line between advertising “massages” as Louise has learnt already and there have been a few confused callers; however, both men and women can benefit from the sessions which aim to cleanse, enlighten and relax and Marie, said she was not expecting to feel so calm or relaxed after the session, almost like walking on air! Young and old are encouraged to the session and Louise will make personal assessments in a pre-consultation to any conditions which people may have. A full session is one and half hours, which Marie said felt almost like 10 minutes as she longed for it to go on and on.
